As a Director/ Cameraman I have experience in documentary, corporate, sport and news production, however my background and experience is slightly wider ranging.

I originally worked as a print journalist in my native Scotland, where I wrote for a UK-wide pop culture magazine before becoming Deputy Editor.  My print work has also appeared in The Guardian, The Scotsman and The List.

As a radio news producer I spent time working in West Africa as well as working undercover with prostitutes and interviewing terrorists in Northern Ireland before I moved into television, initially as a Producer before retraining and specialising as a Director/ Cameraman.

My experience as a Producer in both radio and moving image means I am acutely aware of the importance of being flexible, professional, sympathetic to schedules and budgets whilst always mindful that the core of any production should be a compelling story.

I have also worked extensively in new media with a number of international companies and brands, particularly in the direction and shooting of live streamed multi-camera productions and production of interactive online and mobile delivered projects.

Although I specialise in environments and projects where a smaller team may be desirable, I am equally comfortable working on more complex, higher-end shoots with larger lighting and production teams.  I am able to edit confidently and creatively using a wide range of industry standard NLEs and I am also able to draw on a wide range of highly-experienced freelancers from every aspect of production to add increased value to a project.

Outside of work, I am keen photographer, hillwalker and rugby fan - the latter frequently requiring a level of dedication and perseverance matched only by that in my professional life.
